Cost

The cost of the REST 2.0 conference is $100 USD. This can be paid directly at the conference venue during check in. 

 

The registration cost covers the expense for all meals (Wednesday dinner, Thursday lunch and dinner) and coffee breaks (Thursday and Friday). If you have any questions about the cost, please email katie@iesjakarta.org.

 

What kind of visa should I get?

Visa on arrival –it is free for stays up to 30 days and you can get it directly at the Jakarta airport  More...

 

What is the weather like in Jakarta?

Always hot and humid. But, in IES, it's always cold.

 

How far is the airport from the conference site?

In Jakarta, travel is measured by time rather than distance. When there is no traffic, the church can be reached in 45 minutes from the airport. It will cost between 200.000 to 300.000 Rupiahs by Taxi (Around 25 USD)

 

Transport?

Only take Blue Bird Taxi for safety reasons. If you have more bux to spend, take Silver Bird. 

Busway. The bus way station is right in front and connected to the building where IES is. Purchase a 50.000 (4USD) refillable card sold at the station. Each ride only costs 3.500 (30 Cents)

 

What can I do in Jakarta besides attending the conference?

- Go to Old Batavia. Jakarta is 486 years old. It is rich in history. Discover Old Batavia by taking the bus way and walk around the old city.  

- Go to Taman Mini. Taman Mini is a miniature Indonesia. It has a representation of houses and other artifacts from all accross Indonesia. It is worth seing and needs half a day to explore.

- Go to Nasional Museum.

- Take a ride on a free Tour Jakarta double decker bus. 

- Ride a roller coaster in Dunia Fantasi - Fantasi World. 

- For the ladies, IES is located next to two big malls in Jakarta.

There is Starbucks in the lobby where IES is. Also, Coffee Bean...
